my techie friend told me the sata HDD are made cheaper when I asked him about seeing 2 200gig sata and defective 80 gig. as oppose to the pata HDD. DVD's are cheap enough to make several back ups. I have not idea about solid state HDD, but USB sticks do not last for forever either. I had a couple go out as well.

Hey, it's been an interesting week here. My tower PC quit today too! Luckily, I still have a cheap laptop and a netbook. None of this stuff lasts forever. Even my iMac only lasted 2 years.
